"GHIFFA" VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI D.O.C. CLASSICO
Wine obtained from the fermentation of carefully selected verdicchio grapes, of a straw yellow colour with green highlights. The flowery aroma,the typical mineralization of our hills make Ghiffa a fruit infused wine, polishedwith a note of most intense freshness.

VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI VINE CRURIOSITY

Verdicchio dei castelli di Jesi has a history and a physiognomy that has kept from the past to now becoming one of the most popular white wines in the world. A friar said of this wine "De solar claritade et virtù eccellentissime", and people tells that Alarico when passed in Jesi castel area on the road to Rome, said "seco portasse quaranta some in barili nulla a sé stimando recar sanitade et bellico vigor melio".
A particular characteristic of the Verdicchio vineyards is that their cultivation is possible only in Jesi Castel territory. In the past this area was the basin of lagoon and its clayey/sandy soil and it is rich of minerals, like iron and magnesium. Competent sources say that the variety is on the place since the Eighteen century B.C.
Here the particular nature of the soil, the favourable climate conditions and the constant ventilation that preventes the creation of humidity on the grapes, make possible the optimal grape development.
Verdicchio can easily reach the 13° an when the crop is under control and the harvest followed carefully the wines produced have a good structure a high concentration and a taste of apricot completing its prerogative mineral-saly note.
Its versatile character makes it suitable for many version: from the sparkling dry to fresh and tasty wine, to larger weight (sometimes in oak), to sweet dessert.don’t surprise if it represents the two/thirds of marche production.
